Ann’s career began very early on. While singing in the church choir, she attracted the attention of a local promoter and her professional career began.
A native of Washington, many of her first’s were in the Seattle area: she sang with a Motown Revue Band, a few Top 40 Bands and Jazz Trios, and even performed in a traveling show band that sent her from the Northwest to the Midwest.
On the road is where Ann says she paid some of her dues. While out on the road there was nowhere to sleep but on the tour bus along with 15 other people. A meal was hard to come by and a shower was even harder. It was a tough learning lesson, but one that was invaluable. From it came a lifetime of memories and laughter filled with friends and a unique, musical journey.
In the mainstream entertainment world, Ann’s credits include TV performances on, Northwest Afternoon, Live at Five and numerous other television and radio shows.
Ann’s first CD is entitled “My Heart”, she is in the studio recording a new CD, which will have her original song, “Slumber” as the main track.
When asked about her favorite gigs, Ann notes the NoHo Musical Festival, Bumpershoot Musical Festival in Seattle, The Legendary Cotton Club in NYC, and singing at the Seattle Opera house with Diana Ross, and Stevie Wonder. (A night she will never forget.)
In Southern California, she has played local venues such as Crustacean in Beverly Hills, Westin Hotel in Los Angeles, San Gennaro in Culver City, Wine 661 in Valencia, Valencia Wine Company in Valencia, and Larsen’s Steakhouse in Valencia, and many more jazz clubs/bars in the Los Angeles Area.
